Junior Naturalists

Service Description

Become a junior naturalist and explore the amazing plants and birds that call our local area home! Each week, students will spend 30 minutes on a guided nature walk practicing observation skills while identifying native species and learning about their habitats. Back in the classroom, we’ll research our discoveries, create nature journals, sketch plants and birds, and complete hands-on science projects. Along the way, students will learn about ecosystems, wildlife, and the important role native species play in our environment. This class encourages curiosity, scientific thinking, creativity, and a deeper appreciation for the outdoors. At the end of the six-week session, each student will take home a field guide featuring the plants and birds discovered throughout the course.
